Ed Peffer is a professional saxophonist, clarinetist, flautist, studio musician, composer, arranger, and music educator who can offer you many music services,

 including music entertainment (for any occasion including weddings, private parties, and special events), composition, arrangements, music instruction (jazz and classical), 

and performance (both recorded and live). Ed has both a Bachelor and Master degrees in Music, has vast experience in performing, composing, arranging, and recording various

 styles of music, including jazz, classical, rock, R&B, blues, funk, Latin, folk, and pop music. 

His saxophone and woodwind talents have been featured on several CD recordings, including such artists as Untamed World®, Speakeasy Spies,

 Mike Kasparian, Amy Christian, Michael Drange, Sharlin Wohl, Brownbag, and many others.  Ed released his first demo CD back in 2001 entitled "Ed Peffer and Express,"

 which features some of Ed's original contemporary jazz songs, and also features the great talents of Ron Kobayashi, Kevin Holmes, Matt Overholser, and Mike Alarcon.

Years later (in 2010), Ed recorded another CD with his re-named band, "Soul FX", and features Rene Lopez, Maurilio Mina, Joe Partise, and Alton Corotan,

with more of Ed's original compositions.

Ed plays all of the following instruments professionally:  all the saxophones, flutes, clarinets, Akai EWI, piano, bass guitar. He composes, arranges, and can orchestrate for wind symphony, big band, chamber orchestra, and small ensembles. He utilizes Finale and Dorico for notation software, and Cubase for studio recording mock ups.

corporate events with his own bands for many years, with very successful results!  His satisfied clientele include MCI, Bank of America, Paint Your Heart Out Anaheim,

District Attorney Steve Cooley, CSU Long Beach, CSU Los Angeles, Irvine Valley College, National Fasteners Association, Western Exterminators, St. Irenaeus Catholic Church,

and many others.


Biography

A native of the Los Angeles area, Ed Peffer works professionally as a saxophonist, flautist, clarinetist, composer and arranger, and private woodwind instructor.

He received a Masters in Music in Commercial Music degree in performance and arranging from California State University Los Angeles, 

and got his Bachelor of Arts in Music degree at California State University Long Beach.  Ed was appointed as the director of the first jazz ensemble

 at Irvine Valley College in the Fall of 1999, where he taught the Instrumental Jazz Ensemble (18 piece big band),  Jazz Improvisation, and music theory for 15 years. 


Ed has worked with numerous professionals in the Southern California area, including Don Menza, Tom Scott, Dan Higgins, Eric Marienthal, 

Bill Watrous, Scott Martin, Ron Stout, Gary Foster, Oscar Brashear, Roy "Guitar" Gaines, and countless others. He has performed as 

a sideman for many different musical productions, including: West Side Story, The King and I, Gypsy, Anything Goes, The Man of La Mancha, Guys & Dolls, 

Phantom, Wizard of Oz, Pirates of Penzance, La Cage Aux Folles, Will Roger's Follies, Crazy for You, and many others.


Ed currently freelances and performs with a variety of groups such as City Beat and the Main Street Horns, Untamed World,

 the Nick Peper quartet, Sons of Thunder Big Band, as well as his own contemporary jazz quintet,

 Soul FX. Ed's first CD, Ed Peffer and Express, released in February of 2001, and is available for purchase at www.cdbaby.com.

Their 2nd CD, "Soul FX" (released in 2010) is available through Itunes or Spotify or in the link below. 


 As a sideman, his saxophone, clarinet, and flute playing can be heard on several CD recordings, including the Southern California
